Top 11: Highest transfer fees
After half of this year's transfer window is over, it is time to take a look at the most expensive transfers thus far.
Transfermarkt has created a Top 11 of the highest paid transfer fees this window.
Who would have thought that the crest of Southampton FC would be the one shown most in this squad? After a great season their top players were highly sought after on the transfermarket.
The highest transfer fee for a single player goes to Barcelona who paid 71,3 million pounds for former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez. Thus they are beating rivals Real Madrid by only a small margin with the transfer of James Rodriguez from Monaco for 70 million pounds.
David Luiz becomes the highest paid for defender in his 44 million pound move from Chelsea to Paris SG.
In 10 of the 15 transfers a Premier League club was involved. 4 were even transfers inside the Premier League.
